Welcome ladies and gents to Fashion King!!! Finally, Yoo Ah-in in the States, pretty clothes, SHOES, romance, hopefully a GOOD idol-turned actor and a pretty hunky second lead.
While I’m not completely convinced this drama is going to rock my socks, I’m going to pretend it will…
Fashion King tells the story of young aspiring designers in Dongdaemun Market as they dream of success, and the relationships, love, and challenges they face along the way.
Come meet the cast. As they appear in the drama, I will list them here!
Actor: Yoo Ah-in
A rather directionless, happy-go-lucky, late twenty-something who prefers to avoid conflict rather than further himself in life. He has been told that having a vision in life is foolish. Maybe meeting the right, ambitious woman will change that…
That was SBS’s version. Here’s mine. The man’s a hustler, a favorite with the ladies, likes to take baths, and doesn’t think that trying to further himself is worth it so he just tries to eek by. He’s got talent and a gift for business and schmoozing, as my mother would say.
Actor: Shin Se-kyung
Nicknames: She aspires to be a designer like her mother. Her life is difficult, but she, like a good first lead, fights the odds! YEAH!
So far, her gumption comes out only once and a while and I’d like to see more. Right now she’s this utterly ADORABLE girl with a lot of talent and a lot of luck.
Actor: Lee Je-hoon
Entitled, want-for-nothing, rich kid, er, late twenty-something. He’s going to see a whole new world when he meets the girl who makes him yearn for something.
Actor: Kwon Yu-ri
A glamorous young woman in her early 20s who has endured much in her young life. She’s rather lonely and puts on a strong front to disguise her pain. But, she doesn’t want to live that way any longer.
Actor: Jang Mi-hee
Owner of Jo Boutique who has it out for Ga-young. Apparently, she worked with Ga-young’s parents who started the company and then she took Ga-young in: room, board, schooling. She seems competative against Ga-young on her daughter, Shin Jung-ah’s, behalf.
Actor: Han Yoo-yi
Rich kid who has no respect for her mother and likes to party and sing Prince in the tub. Oh yes, also an entitled brat.
Actor: Cha Seo-won
A meek assistant of Madam Jo’s who is very quietly on Ga-young’s side.
Class leader seamstress at Young Girl
Actor: Go Soo-hee
The loud ahjumma leader at Young-gul’s shop, Young Girl. She’s a seamstress who’s impressed with Ga-young’s skillz.
Actor: Shin Seung-hwan
Young-gul’s friend who is loan shark Tae-sun’s lackey. They have a love/hate relatinoship as vouching for Young-gul really tarnished Il-gook’s reputation with Tae-sun.
Actor: Lee Han-wi
Loan shark whose dating the much younger Soo-ji. At first he likes Young-gul because he paid back his loan. But when he finds out that Young-gul slept with his girl…
Actor: Kim Il-woo
Nicknames: Daddy Jae-hyuk
Chaebol Jae-hyuk’s daddy who is not above sending his son away to please a fashion director that the company desperately wooed. Me no likey. Oh yeah, he owns J FASHION, a big il’ chaebol-y company.
Actor: Yoon Gi-won
Jae-hyuk’s assistant who is rather stodgey and boring. Give me back the fun, quirky assistants that make some yummilicious bromances. Like Im Ji-kyu (Queen of Reversals, Best Love).
Actor: Kim Byung-ok
Arrogant Director of Design at J FASHION who doesn’t like Jae-hyuk ’cause he dissed his work. I can’t say I blame him. I see him being a pain in the ass for Jae-hyuk. He was very hard won by the company and it doesn’t want to lose him.
Actor: Ki Eun-se
Loanshark Tae-hun’s girl.
Nicknames: Rich Lady, Mama Jae-hyuk
She’s Madam Jo’s benefactor and believes in strict punishment for misbehaving (I.E. for Ga-young’s supposed arson.) She is, as I had suspected, Jae-hyuk’s mother.
Actor: Yoo Chae-young
Ga-young’s crazy seamstress former landlady and current boss. She thinks Young-gul is schmexy…so do I.
Young Kang Young-gul
Actor: Seo Young-joo
Young Lee Ga-young
Actor: Kim Sae-ron
Young-gul’s friend who owns a factory and occasionally buys designs from him.
Pretty picture. Dazzling teeth…

Arrrgh, i wanna watch it and don’t wanna watch it….
Do what Deeno taught me to do: downloadthem and watch them at 2x speed on VLC player. Haha. Slow down for the nekkid and kissing scenes and then speed up again! 😀
